Meet Jami.

Ms. Scott is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist and Certified Dyslexia Specialist in the state of Maryland. She has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Hearing Association (ASHA). Ms. Scott obtained her Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). Ms. Scott obtained her Dyslexia Specialist certification from the Dyslexia Training Institute.

Over the past 14 years Ms. Scott has provided speech and language services in a variety of settings including public schools, private nonpublic separate day schools, teletherapy, private/outpatient clinic, and in-home therapy. She has extensive clinical experience working with neurodivergent individuals across the continuum of learning and communication needs ranging from age 3 to 21. Ms. Scott worked for several years at Kennedy Krieger Institute. During this time, Ms. Scott worked exclusively on an interdisciplinary team to create highly individualized academic and therapeutic programs for children with complex learning needs.

Ms. Scott has worked as a Special Education Team Leader, where she was responsible for facilitating Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, ensuring students’ IEPs were implemented with fidelity and written for each child’s individualized learning needs. Ms. Scott received additional training in the areas of Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA), Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE), Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR), Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), National Joint Committee for the Communication Needs of Persons with Severe Disabilities-Communication Bill of Rights, and Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) policies and procedures. It is through this role; her passion for advocacy flourished, and her dedication to working with individuals and their families grew exponentially. She recognized a community need in offering consultative services to parents/guardians to understand the special education process in school systems. 

Ms. Scott recognizes the significance in empowering parents and caregivers of students with diverse learning and communication needs to ensure their child’s school experience is safe, equitable, accessible, inclusive, and customized for their child’s needs. She has a creative therapeutic approach rooted in relationships/rapport, evidence-based practices, individualized therapy approaches, collaboration, and family-centered inclusion. Ms. Scott services the whole child, not as a diagnosis. Her desire and enthusiasm are the foundation for her determination and steadfast wish to provide functional and inclusive therapy for individuals and their families to ensure that every person is given an equal opportunity to communicate and learn.
